Many of these Ancient Standards of Measurement existed before the development of a written language. Their study and classification could only be accomplished through numerical analysis. This study developed accurate methods of analysis permitting theories of their origin to be compared to measured values. brief examples of the methods used are shown in examples 2A and 2B below.
